It is with great joy and excitement that I share this, our first Blog! Spear Head is up and running! God has given me a heart for Missions since a young boy. My father took me on my first Mission trip top Haiti when I was yet a young teen. Over the past 6 years the burden has grown even stronger, with the burden the Lord has placed in my heart for the Peruvian Amazon. Things have escalated so fast, we felt the need to establish a 501C3 non-profit ministry. The needs are great in this region! So many that have not heard the Gospel message. I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store! I was once told that "Missions" was a deep black hole that could never be filled. A money pit to say. It can seem over whelming when we look at the needs and the work to be done through our own eyes, but with God all things are possible. We need His help and help from our family, friends, and acquaintances. There is something everyone can do. Trips, construction, prayer, and financial support, to name a few.
I couldn't post our first Blog without thanks to some special people. The direction and confidence for the last six years were given to me by Brother Bill Pepper, founder of Amazon Outreach and M.E.P.I. of Peru. His advice and friendship is priceless. Bill's son, David and his wife LaRae have now taken the reigns of Amazon Outreach and it is growing stronger than ever. It is a pleasure to be a help to their ministry. Why Spear Head? God had been dealing with me for a few weeks about starting a non profit. One particular day the burden felt extra heavy heart to get this moving. I didn't know how to go about it, who to talk to, what to name it. That day I was pumping gas when a familiar face pulled up to me. It was a local business man that I knew quite well. He immediately asked about my ministry and what I had planned in the near future. His next question blew me away as he asked if I had ever considered starting a non profit organization. I of course replied that I had been doing a lot of thinking and praying about. He then told me he had been praying about giving a tithe from his business and the Lord brought me to mind and he had the perfect name for it....Spear Head! I loved the name and it just felt right, kind of like a spear head, being on the leading edge of what God is doing in missions. So here we are, so exciting to see what God has in store. Like so many of you, I want to be used by God . We need help with numerous areas and I believe everyone has a unique gift that God can use. Drop us a line, we would love to hear from you. Remember to pray for us and missions. God bless.
